A small studio devoted to lime. We restore old walls, finish new ones, and bring back surfaces that breathe, settle, and age well.

We started this because the walls we grew up around had a quiet to them. They held the weather. They forgave the seasons. They didn't ask to be repainted every two years.
Modern paints cover. Lime joins. It bonds to stone and brick the way it has for centuries, breathes with them, and asks very little in return.
Our work is to keep that craft alive. To do it carefully, in small numbers, with people we like working with. To leave behind rooms that feel older than they are.

About
Natarajan Krishnasamy
Natarajan founded The Lime Life in Coimbatore to bring traditional lime craft back into everyday Indian homes. Trained on heritage restoration sites across Tamil Nadu, he has spent over a decade studying Tadelakt, Araish, Chettinad, Venetian stucco and lime wash — and the conditions each one needs to settle well.
He works directly with homeowners, architects and conservationists, mixing every batch by hand and finishing each wall personally with a small in-house team. The studio takes on a handful of projects a year so that craft, not volume, sets the pace.
When he isn't on a scaffold, Natarajan teaches workshops on lime as a building material, and consults on specifications for new architectural projects across South India.
